چکیده
Background: Cervical cancer is second most common in women globally. Overall 80% cases occurs developing countries. An important reason for the high incidence of cervical countries lack effective screening programs to detect precancerous conditions and treat before it progresses invasive due severe restrictions on availability infrastructure, resources funding. Aim this study was compare sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV VIA, Pap smear colposcopy with colposcopic directed biopsy (as a gold standard). Methods: This prospective analytical conducted 200 women’s (age>19 years) abnormal cervix Department Of Obstetrics Gynaecology, Government Medical College Kota from 1 august 2020 31 July 2022 who fulfil Inclusion criteria. All Symptomatic patients symptoms like vaginal discharge postcoital bleeding, itching, other gynaecological problems along asymptomatic accidental finding bad (cervical erosion). Results: Maximum had complaint per vaginum (60.55%), followed by post coital bleeding (11.5%). VIA when compared HPR, sensitivity 94.85% specificity 74.76% corresponding PPV 78% 94%. Paps 62.89% 89.32% 84.72% 71.88%. Colposcopy Histopathological report, 70% 91.26% 88.3% 76.4%. Conclusions: Best result early detection pre-invasive lesions could be combined use smear, guided rather than any individual diagnostic procedure. It will immensely reduce morbidity mortality.

متن کاملComparative study of visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA), Pap smear and biopsy for cervical cytology
Introduction: Cervical lesions are generally screened with Pap smear test. However, the procedure is quite intensive and takes time. An effective alternate method is proposed by WHO with visual inspection of acetowhite areas in acetic acid test, which can be used in developing countries as it is cheap and results can be given immediately. Biopsy is considered confirmative test for same cervical...

UNLABELLED This article is a comparative study of two screening methods for pre-invasive lesions of the cervix. The Papanicolaou (Pap) smear, an old and tested screening method, is compared with the findings from visual inspection of the cervix following acetic acid (VIA) wash. VIA is a new screening method being advocated by the World Health Organization as an alternative to Pap smear in low-r...
